Backing up and restoring your system
I am delightfully proud to say that my mum just got her first ever Linux machine – an Acer Aspire One, the perfect tool for sofa-browsing. Being a Windows user and being slightly technophobic and afraid of breaking things, one of her first questions was ‘is there a system restore on this thing?’ The Windows System Restore function works in such a way (to put this very simply) that it captures an ‘image’ of your computer at the time of back-up, and if you need to restore, it reproduces that image.
